Rajesh Gill

Dr. Rajesh Gill is an eminent social scientist with over 35 years of experience in the field of human and social management. Having obtained doctorate from Panjab University, Chandigarh, she served her alma mater as a Professor of Sociology. She also holds a Law degree and is currently a legal practitioner, post superannuation. She is a certified trainer of University Grants Commission’s ‘Capacity Building Program for Women Managers in Higher Education’ and has engaged multiple training sessions on themes such as Work-Life Balance; Personal and Professional Management; Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace; Team building and Decision Making, Leadership at Workplace, etc.

With more than 100 research publications in reputed academic journals under her belt, she has also successfully completed several Research Projects on themes such as Governance; State, Market and Civil Society; Gender Audit (Legal, Public Policy and Social Audit); Corruption in Governance; People Centric Governance, etc. She is on the Governing Bodies of IISER, Mohali and Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Law, Patiala. She is a Member of Institutional Ethics Committee of NIPER, Mohali and ICC member of NIPER and ISSER. She has also been a Member of Audit Advisory Board, Punjab and Haryana, and a long term Member of Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of Hon’ble Punjab & Haryana High Court.

With vast experience in behavior change & self-management interventions, so crucial for optimal output of an organization, she carries an immense potential to grasp the antecedents of human and cultural aspects contributing to serious industrial accidents. Herself a trained resource person for effecting behavior modification through sensitization and awareness, she has been associated with diverse professional organizations, viz. Universities and Law Schools, Management Schools, Medical and Pharmaceutical Institutes, UT State AIDS Control Society as evaluator of interventionist strategies for behavior modification, Industrial units as facilitator of human management, trainer at Central Detective Training Institutes, Member High Court Legal Services Authority, Chandigarh, Punjab State Institute of Public Administration etc.

As a prolific researcher and practitioner, she has great expertise in assisting the organizations in optimizing their workplace safety by working on human factors such as workplace fatigue, cognitive and cultural baggage, family induced stress and inability to forge work-home balance, occupational insecurity, under-use of abilities and skills, etc., which have been confirmed as significant contributory factors to major catastrophes, especially in Chemical Industries, across the world. As a trained professional with cultural sensitivity, she possesses the skills to interact with diverse populations respectfully and raise awareness, develop strategies and initiate initiatives through advocacy, to promote safe work and minimize human errors.
