Prakash G Wagle

Mr. Prakash Wagle is a Mechanical Engineer (B.Tech) from IIT-Bombay, with over 40 years of experience in the Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry in Projects, Engineering Maintenance, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Environment Management.

He was associated with ICI India for over 25 years having different roles and responsibilities in various businesses – Industrial Explosives, Rubber Chemicals, Fibres, Paints, etc. In the year 2000, he took charge of the Corporate Engineering & SHE (Safety, Health and Environment) functions of ICI India and was responsible for engineering as well as EHS standards across ICI India group of companies.

In 2004, he joined Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd. as Director – EHS and was responsible for maintaining high standards of Environment, Health and Safety throughout the group. He accomplished development & implementation of a World-class EHS Management System and also secured ISO-14001 & OHSAS-18001 certifications for all API manufacturing sites of Ranbaxy.

He is associated with ICC (Indian Chemical Council) and is on the approved panel of Auditors to conduct RC (Responsible Care) Logo audits. Responsible Care is a global voluntary initiative adopted by most of the major Chemical companies to improve their EHS performance with focus on Process Safety, Employee & Contractor Health and Safety, Pollution Prevention, Product Safety and Product Stewardship, Distribution Safety, Emergency Response, Security and CSR. During the last decade of association with ICC he has conducted RC Logo audits at over 25 out of top 100 Chemical companies in India.
