Devender K Kalia

Mr. Devender K Kalia is a veteran Electrical Engineer from Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala with a rich experience of 37+ years in Oil Field, Petrochemical, Chemical, Synthetic yarn & Pharmaceutical sectors. He specializes in Engineering (O&M), Projects and related EHS aspects.

During the initial phase of his career, he worked with JCT Nylon & Polyester Yarn Division & Indian Acrylics Ltd. post which he moved to Punjab Alkalis and Chemical Ltd. for its upcoming 100 TPD Chlor Alkalis Project designed & executed by UDHE India. He later switched to Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd. where he held responsibilities for Electrical Safety, Electrical systems O&M and new Projects. He specialized in and spearheaded Electrical Safety manufacturing and executed several major projects including key role in implementation ISO14001 & BS OASAS18001. He later moved to Engineering & Facility Planning (E&FP) as General Manager for Global Pharma Division where he was responsible for putting up greenfield and brownfield drug product facilities complete till qualifications & validation, across the globe, majorly in India and Africa. He also executed a critical project in establishing a cold chain for 30 warehouses across India.

In the most recent part of his career, he worked on an international assignment for 3 years in an Oil Field in the name of Basra Oil Field Majnoon Iraq, where he was responsible for Electrical Generation & Distribution System across the Majnoon Oil Field, that was developed by SHELL. He worked extensively on all aspects of electrical safety systems, procedures & their compliance in oil field, developed by SHELL – a pioneer in Oil field Safety.

He is a Certified Energy Manager from BEE, Fellow Membership & Charted Engineer Certification from Institute of Engineers (India).

To support clients, he brings extensive expertise in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Safety, Hazardous Area Classification, Electrostatic Control and Arc Flash Safety at O&M and projects stages (design-installation-qualification-operations-maintenance).
